No this isn’t the Matrix, but NASA’s Morpheus lander crashed and burned earlier. Built as a prototype that NASA thought would be used on the Moon or perhaps as Asteroid, their lander was running tests at the Kennedy Space Center. It had just last week been located at Cape Canaveral running a series of tethered flights.

The Morpheus uses a fuel made from methane & liquid oxygen propellants. The goal was to make this lander “green” as the parts are recycled as well as the fuel is cheaper.

Apparently the vehicle went up, went on fire, came down all in a matter of seconds. No one was hurt other than Morpheus.
