SOLAR POLE REVERSAL (EARTH DON'T WORRY)

NASA solar observatories and various scientists over the past year have made mention of the impending magnetic field reversal of the Sun. While there are physicists that monitor Earth and her changes there are similarly those that keep their eyes to the Sun and it a magnetic field reversal is not only imminent, but already in motion. The North pole of the Sun is already pretty set with the South pole struggling to catch up.

The solar cycle is an 11 year cycle that includes numerous events the midpoint of which is this reversal of poles followed by a somewhat subdued activity. Typically it takes 5.5 years to move from a quiet period called the solar minimum to the more active period – the solar maximum. It acts to structure the Sun’s atmosphere, corona and the solar winds as well as modulate the solar irradiance. Also affected is the flux of short-wave length solar radiation and solar flares. Another event occurring is coronal mass ejections and other solar eruptive phenomena that disrupts communications and power grids on Earth. (not on purpose!)

The Sun has a magnetic field which is generated by the motion of conductive plasma. Created through the collective motion of groups of molecules within the fluids and resulting in the transfer of energy represented by the physical movement of physical materials. The spots viewed on the Sun represent the greatly increased activity and exist anywhere from a few days to a few months eventually decaying. Coronal loops-a magnetic flux fixed to the sun at both ends but with a stream that shoots out, also become evident. This all leads to the accumulation of the magnetized decay products at high solar latitudes which in turn leads to the eventual reversal of the polarity of the polar fields

The Sun has however not been following its program and so scientists are racing to make up new models. That fact that the inhabitants of Earth are capable of greater solar understanding based on new technologies, a more in depth study is already in process.

A solar physicist at Stanford University, Todd Hoeksema said: “It looks like we’re no more than three to four months away from a complete field reversal…This change will have ripple effects throughout the solar system,” he said. Hoeksema is the director of Stanford’s Wilcox Solar Observatory, one of the observatories that monitors the sun’s polar magnetic fields. There are those who represent the naysayers of Climate Change who point to these ‘goings on’ and suggest that they are the real source of our problems. This in fact is not true. The events are totally separate. The poles on Earth have however shifted at an increased rate. The magnetic power of the Earth comes from the hot outer shell of molten iron that moves about a solid inner core. This liquid metal generates electrical currents and magnetic fields as a result. The Earth’s currents are a bit erratic which makes the magnetic polarity also non-static.

The Sun’s pole reversal is more according to a schedule and so far three grand reversals with the fourth currently going on, have been monitored. (Magnetograms have been tracking the sun’s polar magnetism since 1976) The Sun has magnetic influence that extends billions of kilometers beyond Pluto and the change in its polarity is reaching out to the edge of interstellar space – where currently the Voyager is found.

Obviously this is a grand event, but one that keeps repeating every 11 years. The picture below demonstrates how great the Earth’s own shielding is and so rejects the great power that the sun emanates.

SUN Factoids:

1)Since the Sun consists of a plasma and is not solid, it rotates faster at its equator than at its poles. 2)The Sun does not have a definite boundary as rocky planets do, and in its outer parts the density of its gases drops exponentially with increasing distance from its center. 3)Most of the Sun’s energy is produced through nuclear fusion. 4)Contrary to popular belief the Sun has a power production density that more nearly approximates reptile metabolism than a thermonuclear bomb.
